Hou Guangcai-english-西北地调

Hou Guangcai was born in 1958, graduated from Chengdu Institute of Geology with bachelor degree in 1980, and had been worked as chief geologist in the Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources Exploration of Xinjiang-No.2 hydrology brigade from 1980 to 2001. Since 2002, he has been working as vice-chief geologist in Xi’an center of geological survey, CGS. He has been engaged in groundwater investigation and exploration in late years and obtained more than 6 awards from the ministry, including a first prize for excellent investigation and design from the Ministry of Construction in 2003, a third prize for technology and science advancement from Xinjiang Government in 2000, a second prize and three third prize for prospecting achievements from the former ministry of geology and minerals resources. He has undertaken and finished many key projects from the Ministry of Land and Resources, such as the Groundwater Investigation and Exploration in Ordos Basin and Application of Isotope Technique in the Assessment and Management of Groundwater in Ordos Basin. These achievements have been taken as the apotheosis of groundwater investigation and exploration all over the world. He has been awarded the title of advanced individuals by The Ministry of Land and Resources, model worker by Shaanxi government, advanced worker by China Geology Survey, excellent technician by Xinjiang government and so on. He has compiled two monograph and over 30 academic articles in formal issue of the journal. The main representative articles are as follows:
